What Is White Noise and Where to Download It for Free

I was looking for baby's lullaby from the net when I come across the word "White Noise". Now, what is a White Noise? Why it is called, white noise? What's the connection of the white noise to a baby's lullaby? These are the questions that instantly popped into my head.

According to Mr. Wikipedia
is a random signal (or process) with a flat power spectral density. In other words, the signal contains equal power within a fixed bandwidth at any center frequency. White noise draws its name from white light in which the power spectral density of the light is distributed over the visible band in such a way that the eye's three color receptors (cones) are approximately equally stimulated.
From HowStuffWorks
The adjective "white" is used to describe this type of noise because of the way white light works. Because white noise contains all frequencies, it is frequently used to mask other sounds.
So, what’s the connection of a white noise to a baby’s lullaby?
I searched the net and found out that a white noise helps to soothe a crying sleepy babies and babies with colic. It calms down your baby to sleep. There are a lot of explanations about the white noise from the internet. You can evenfree white noise downloads of white noise music.

But what is the sound of a white noise?
To tell you, it’s the daily sound of the environment. It has two categories: nature and mechanical categories. Nature sounds like the rain drops, ocean wave, the wind and many others. While, mechanical sounds include the sound of your electric fan, washing machine, the sound of your air-con and many more.

I tried it on my baby. First, it made him quiet and listens but I guess he changed his mind. There again, he cries out loud. My baby was only two months, then.

In every advantage point, there is also a disadvantage for every perspective you learn. From WebMD, it says that: “White noise may delay an infant’s development”. Unlike speech or music, white noise, such as radio static or an air conditioner's hum, is random sound with no distinguishable auditory pattern. That is based on their study and research.

I will not advise you to try white noise on your baby. But, try to ask your Pediatrician first about it.
